Music Can Be Poetry Too #4

“ I want to go where everyone goes

I want to know what everyone knows

I want to go where everyone feels the same

I never said I’d leave the city

I never said I’d leave this town

A falling out we won’t tiptoe about

And everybody gets their, everybody gets their

And everybody gets their way

I never said I missed her when everybody kissed her

Now I’m the only one to blame”

Just Right

Sometimes I feel like I’m shrouded in darkness.

Other times I feel like a holy soul cut from light.

Caught between two polar extremes

I’ll settle for living a shaded life.

You See This Happen Everyday

Your heart flutters at routine thought. It’s reaching.

Love.

Something a stark soul wants.

A wish. Hoping it’s hiding just beyond the next ray of a days light.

Tomorrows salvation could heal yesterdays gnawing blight.

Your eternal companion.

Should nothing come so easy?

Be found so free?

Be bound and not free?

Insecurity riles up, gnashes its teeth.

Be steady.

Supposedly utter excellence finds those that delay.

-kinda rough, don’t know if this will be the final

Push & Push

I want to be made from greatness

But sometimes it feels like it’ll be only a dream.

I want live in grandour

Though squalor is all I ever see.

Success and peace are strangers

Yet failure and perserverance be old friends.

Only time will tell which of these two fates

Will be my (un)happy end.

Truth of a Day in the Life

It’s hard being bi-polar.

It’s hard having A.D.D.

It’s hard having such a mean father.

Everyday it seems harder and harder to be me.

Music Can Be Poetry Too #3

Don’t forget me.

I begged.

I remember you said,

“Sometimes it last in love,

But sometimes it hurts instead.”

-Adele, Someone Like You

Music Can Be Poetry Too #2

“No ones gonna love you more than I do.

But someone,

They could have warned you.

When things start splitting at the seams and now,

The whole thing’s tumbling down.

Things start splitting at the seams and now,

If things start splitting at the seams and now, it’s tumbling down,

Hard.”

-Band of Horses, No One’s Gonna Love You(Cee Lo Green Cover, Paul Epworth Mix)

Corriendo Diablo

I once knew a boy who only knew how to run.

At first I could never catch him because he moved fast as a gun.

No family to hold him.

No love held strong to control him.

Life would give twist, and he’d take flight quick.

I always hoped to catch him,

The devil that he was.

I cried, for no one could accept him.

His heart too wild,

his spirit too young.

I didn’t think it possible to tame such a fiery and beautiful thing

since he occupied a place your words could’t follow chase.

One day as he turned into his dash I happened to think fast.

I formed my words into a net.

His speed, its match was met.

After the crash at my heart he lashed.

I dried his tears with my kind ears

and promised him better years.

I once knew a boy who only knew how to run,

but now he stops and thinks.

Mulls his decision over on his tounge.

I hope to one day give him a home
